Chris Lord

Managing Director

Chris is the founder and Managing Director of The Virtual IT Director, passionate about technology, customer service, and providing clear, unbiased IT guidance to SMEs across the UK and Ireland. With over 25 years in the IT industry and a background in accounting, he’s just as comfortable inside a data centre as he is in the boardroom. Outside of work, he’s a keen brass bander, holds an HGV Class 1 licence, and runs Wakefield Technology 4 All – a local initiative bridging the digital divide in Wakefield and the Five Towns.

Adam Morrison

Virtual IT Director

Adam is an Associate Virtual IT Director with a strong track record in designing and deploying resilient network architectures, particularly using Cisco technologies. Commercially and technically aware, he also helps businesses reduce costs by analysing and optimising their IT procurement strategies. Approachable and pragmatic, Adam is based out of our London office in King’s Cross. Outside of The Virtual IT Director, he’s a motorsport enthusiast and race licence holder who enjoys hill walking and anything with an engine.

Aiman Hassanyeh

Lead SQL Consultant

Aiman is our Lead SQL Consultant at The Virtual SQL Specialist. A seasoned and highly experienced DBA, he’s worked with SQL Server since 2007 across sectors including not-for-profit and financial services. He truly understands what goes on under the bonnet—bringing deep, hands-on knowledge across a wide range of SQL Server estates, from small deployments to complex, enterprise-scale environments. Outside of work, Aiman is passionate about boxing and brings the same focus and discipline to his craft.

Gillian Kitson

Admin Assistant

With over 23 years of combined experience as an Executive and Personal Assistant, Gillian brings a wealth of knowledge and calm efficiency to The Virtual IT Director. While officially our Admin Assistant, she plays a much broader role—supporting marketing, bookkeeping, day-to-day operations, and generally being the go-to person for getting things done. Friendly, approachable, and a breath of fresh air around the office, Gillian keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Paul Heigham

Virtual IT Director

Paul is a seasoned IT professional with nearly 30 years of experience and a strong presence in the local tech community—once described as a ‘local hero’ in TopicUK magazine. His expertise spans both corporate and SME environments, with particular strength in the property and construction sector. Paul is passionate about cybersecurity and helping businesses stay safe in a fast-moving digital world. With a no-nonsense, straight-talking approach, he’s approachable, pragmatic, and a valuable part of The Virtual IT Director’s associate team.
